How We Evaluate Beauty
A premium price does not make a product right for everyone. We evaluate the information available for each product and explain the practical considerations behind a purchase.
Start with the product, not the promise
We examine the current product name, format, size, shade or variant, published ingredients and manufacturer instructions when those details are available. Formulas and packaging can change, so the product label and manufacturer documentation remain the final reference.
Consider the category
For makeup, shade availability, undertone information, coverage and finish matter. For skincare, we discuss the published formula and where the product fits in a routine without diagnosing skin conditions. For tools, we examine documented features, maintenance, warranty information and safe-use requirements.
Separate evidence from opinion
Brand claims are identified as claims, not independently proven results. Marketplace ratings are not our own testing scores. We do not claim first-hand testing unless the article explains what was tested and how. Illustrative editorial imagery is not evidence of a product test.
Make the trade-offs useful
We explain strengths, limitations, alternatives and the buyer profiles a product may suit. Unknown details stay unknown. We do not invent wear-time measurements, clinical outcomes, dermatologist endorsements or ingredient concentrations.
