Yepp, cocktails are definitely on the menu!
Of course whether or not you choose to drink is completely up to you, but when the mood is right, the sun is up, and everyone seems to be having a good time, it can be hard to resist at least one! If you like having a drink now and then, you should absolutely be able to do so without worrying about how it’s going to affect your skin.
These tips will ensure you can enjoy sipping on your favourite drinks, as well as keep your skin looking its best, because hey, why can’t you have it both ways?
Drink water alongside your alcoholic drinks
Drinking water alongside your drinks is one of the best ways to keep you hydrated from the inside out to help prevent dehydration and keep your skin cells plump and supple. Be sure to drink filtered water with every drink you have and drink a glass before bed to help prevent a hangover the next day too.
Set your limits
Of course this one may seem obvious, but by sticking to just one or two drinks, not only do you prevent yourself from doing something a little embarrassing (like texting your ex!) you also help to prevent dehydration. Dehydration can wreak havoc not only on how you feel the next morning, but on your skin too! Find a friend that either doesn’t drink or only drinks a little and hold each other accountable, because I know it can be hard to stop when the night is young and the alcohol is flowing!
Try snacking on some foods rich in healthy fats that will help to fill you up and absorb some of that alcohol you may be drinking. Oh and did you know healthy fats will leave your skin glowing too? Some crackers or tortillas dipped in hummus or guacamole are great choices, as are nuts like almonds and walnuts. Starters like tortillas and salsa are common at bars and pubs so just be sure to order a side of guac too!
Treat your skin
